Our client, an innovative agri-tech company, providing farmers with actionable alerts, evidence of crop protection effectiveness, and recommendations for interventions, is looking for a CEO to lead the business into the next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced agriculture or agtech scale-up leader to step into a purpose-driven, high-potential business with strong traction and global relevance. As CEO, you will define and execute strategy, drive exponential commercial growth, and lead a high-performance team to achieve lasting impact at scale.

Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership & Commercial Scaling

  • Define and lead the company’s commercial strategy and scaling priorities.

  • Scale sales 3x annually and deployments 5x annually through team building and process design.

  • Oversee product-market fit evolution, particularly for AI-powered sensors and adaptive crop models.

• AgTech Expertise & Innovation Leadership

  • Advocate the value of real-time crop health data across the agricultural value chain.

  • Navigate challenges in AgTech adoption and farmer engagement.

  • Align technology roadmap with grower needs and climate-smart agriculture trends.

• Financial Performance & Capital Strategy

  • Manage P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting to meet growth targets.

  • Secure and oversee capital from investors, strategic partners, and public grants.

  • Support value-creation milestones and exit strategy planning.

• Team Building & Culture Development

  • Lead a diverse, multicultural team across science, engineering, and commercial functions.

  • Foster a values-driven, performance-oriented culture emphasising curiosity, resilience, and impact.

  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, with strong female representation.

• Partnerships & Ecosystem Influence

  • Build strategic alliances with agriculture innovators, research centers, investors, and regulators.

  • Represent the company at industry forums and conferences.

  • Shape sustainable farming practices and the future of data-driven agriculture.

• Governance & Risk Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Board on governance, risk management, and policy alignment.

  • Ensure strong internal controls, ESG accountability, and adherence to B Corp principles.

About You

• Executive Leadership:Proven CEO or senior executive track record in ag-tech, with strong commercial and operational expertise.

• AgTech Scaling Experience:Deep understanding of challenges in scaling AgTech businesses, with a record of delivering ambitious growth, market expansion, and operational scaling.

• Commercial & Financial Acumen: Experienced in M&A, fundraising, and managing P&L; strong business sense with results-driven, action-oriented approach.

• Industry Knowledge & Network: Extensive experience and connections in high-value agriculture markets; familiar with R&D-heavy enterprises combining biology, ML/AI, and hardware.

• Strategic & Visionary Thinking:Able to analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic direction.

• Partnership & Stakeholder Management:Skilled at forging multi-stakeholder relationships with growers, academia, investors, and regulators.

• Communication & Interpersonal Skills:Persuasive, dynamic communicator with high cultural awareness; excellent written and verbal English plus at least one other European language. Builds trust quickly and maintains long-term relationships.
